Single Storey Extension to provide Dining Room

The school is a new building that opened in September 2023. Since the completion the dining hall has

proved to be inadequate to support the operation of the school and the construction of a new single storey extension to the existing building to form a new dining space extension was planned to

provide greater capacity. In addition to this we also converted the SEN area into a new food tech area and music rooms into a SEN unit.

The extension comprised of:

Approximately 480m2 extension to dining area (including ceilings, M&E, decoration & floorcoverings.
An additional occupancy of 448 pupils
Approximately 25m2 toilet block with 8No. cubicles, hand wash troughs and hand dryers
Cleaners’ cupboard
Plantroom 3.5m2
External planting
Extending the playground area including associated drainage

Internal alterations comprised of:

Internal strip out
Alterations to Partitions
Works to fire doors
Installation of new food, tech facilities and furniture
Decoration and floor coverings

The new dining hall extends off the Northeastern external façade of the existing dining hall onto land that comprises of hard standing and grass area. Mechanical and Electrical engineering works included:

Alterations to existing Monodraught units and installation of new Monodraught units
Alterations to existing external electrical ducts and services
Extension of new services off, the existing incoming services (gas and water)
Installation of new domestic water services to WC’s & Cleaners Cupboard
Installation of new mechanical extract ventilation to WC’s & Cleaners Cupboard
Installation of new control systems
Alteration of existing and installation of new lightning protection system
Extension of existing fire alarm system into new extension
Extension of existing intruder system into new extension
Relocation of existing CCTV cameras
Installation of new lighting throughout the new extension
Relocation of existing external lighting
New small power installations and data installations
New LV power distribution and containment installations
