Firth Point Student Accommodation Refurbishment
Originally constructed in 2006, Firth Point is a purpose-built student accommodation development comprising two main blocks.
Block 1 incorporates the main reception area and includes four connected wings: Blocks A, B, C, and D.
Block 2, known as Block E, is a standalone structure situated adjacent to the main complex.
The development consists of a total of 200 en-suite bedrooms and 39 communal kitchens, designed to provide high-quality living spaces for students.
The buildings were constructed using a timber frame system up to the third floor, with external façades finished in coursed stone cladding and complemented by art-stone heads and cills to windows and doors. Internally, partition walls were formed using timber stud framing with a combination of plasterboard and fire-rated board linings, delivering both functional and fire-resistant performance.
In 2024, NU Construction was appointed as the principal contractor to carry out a full refurbishment of the facility, with the objective of upgrading all units to contemporary standards in terms of aesthetics, functionality, and compliance.
The refurbishment project commenced in December 2024 and was successfully completed in August 2025, delivered on time and to the highest standards of quality and safety.
