As one of Leeds’ best-known Grade II listed manufacturing buildings, this phase of works required a careful balance between modern performance requirements and the preservation of the building’s historic character.
The original roof structure has been replaced to support the new re-cladding operation and accommodate a new photovoltaic panel array, all while ensuring the building has remained fully operational throughout the works below.
A key challenge of this phase was retaining the appearance and geometry of the existing clerestory building over the main entrance. This has been carefully maintained through the design and installation of the new roof structure—preserving the building’s heritage while enabling long-term performance improvements.
A great effort from everyone involved in delivering another technically complex phase safely and efficiently.
